Mentoring programme - Mentees

Would you benefit from mentoring?

Are you interested in being mentored?

Are you a disabled person aged eighteen or above and ready to be more active?

Are you also based in the East Midlands?

Our peer mentoring might be for you.

We’re looking for people with physical, sensory, hidden disability/disabilities or learning impairment(s) who are keen to be more active but aren’t currently taking part in regular physical activity or sport or taking part in physical activity/sport less than twice a month.

Mentoring with Richard Whitehead Foundation lasts up to six months, with up to four sessions a month. It can be face to face or online.

As a result of our previous mentoring programme, mentees mentioned increased activity, confidence and positivity. Some talked about making new friends and joining new classes.

Please note:

  • Mentoring isn’t for people who aren’t at a stage where they can exercise. It may be that mentoring is more suitable for those people at a later stage

  • If we feel that this mentoring programme isn’t the most suitable support for those who express an interest, we may signpost them to another organisation

  • We are not mental health experts. Our mentoring isn’t therapy or an intervention for ongoing and severe mental health problems and so this programme isn’t suitable for those who need support for severe mental health conditions. We always advise people to see their GP in the first instance if they are concerned about their mental health.
