Up & Running Nottingham launches fundraising partnership with The Richard Whitehead Foundation
The Richard Whitehead Foundation is delighted to announce that Up & Running Nottingham has officially launched its fundraising partnership in support of the Foundation with a special An Evening with Richard Whitehead on 8 July.
Hosted at the Up & Running Nottingham store, the event brought together supporters, runners and members of the local community for an inspiring evening with Foundation President Richard Whitehead MBE. Richard shared his personal journey, reflected on the importance of inclusion, and spoke passionately about creating opportunities for disabled people to move, take part and belong through sport and physical activity.
The evening marked the start of Up & Running Nottingham's fundraising efforts for the Foundation, with an impressive £795 raised through raffle ticket sales and donations. This is a fantastic start towards the store's £1,000 fundraising target for the year.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, purchased raffle tickets and supported the event. Your generosity will help us continue our mission of breaking down barriers and creating inclusive opportunities for disabled people through sport, movement and inclusion.
We are incredibly grateful to the team at Up & Running Nottingham for choosing The Richard Whitehead Foundation as their Charity Partner and for their enthusiasm and commitment to supporting our work. Their fundraising journey is just beginning, and we're excited to see what we can achieve together over the coming months.

A special thank you also goes to the local businesses who generously donated raffle prizes, everyone who volunteered to make the evening a success, and Ryan from Capture & Create Studio for capturing the event through his fantastic photography.
Together, we're helping to build a more inclusive future where everyone has the opportunity to experience the physical, social and mental wellbeing benefits of sport and movement.
We look forward to sharing more updates from our partnership with Up & Running Nottingham as their fundraising continues throughout the year.
